Mass Update

Overview and Access

The Mass Update (BulkFill) tool allows users to manage inventory, pricing, and restrictions across multiple dates and channels simultaneously.

Access Path:

1. Navigate to the Prices and Availability menu.

2. Select Mass Update or click the Fill prices, allotment, restrictions button.

   

Selection and Filtering Logic

To update data, users must define the scope of the change:

• Room and Rate Plans: Select one or more combinations. Use the green plus (+) button to add multiple unique combinations.

• Partners: Select specific channels for the update. If no partners are checked, the update applies globally to all connected channels.

• Date Ranges: Use the date picker to set the period. The green plus (+) button allows for multiple non-consecutive date ranges in one operation.

Updating Prices and Allotment

Prices and Allotment follow a weekly grid structure (Monday–Sunday).

• Copy Logic: Entering a value for Monday and clicking the arrow icon populates that value across the entire week.
• Relative Updates: Use the dropdown menu to modify existing values:
  • Increase/Decrease by amount: Adjusts by a fixed currency or unit value.

  • Increase/Decrease by percent/percentage: Adjusts by a mathematical percentage.

    

Managing Restrictions

Expanding the restrictions menu provides access to advanced distribution parameters:

• MinLOS: Set the minimum stay duration.
• MaxLOS: Set the maximum stay duration.
• CTA/CTD: Toggle to "On" to block arrivals or departures. Default is "Off."
• Release Days: Enter a numeric value to set the lead time for releasing inventory.
• Sell/StopSell: - Sell (Green Up Arrow): Inventory is open.

  • StopSell (Red Down Arrow): Inventory is closed.

    

Data Propagation and Synchronization

Before saving, users can synchronize changes to related entities using checkboxes at the bottom of the interface:

• Recalculate prices for child rooms: Applies formulas to dependent rooms/rates.
• Save Allotment in all rate plans: Syncs availability across all plans for the selected room.
• Insert MLOS/MaxLOS in all rooms: Globalizes stay restrictions.
• Save Sell/StopSell/CTA/CTD in all rate plans: Syncs status overrides across all plans.

Use Case: Closing Availability for Specific Partners

1. Navigate to Prices and Availability > Mass Update.
2. Select the Date Range.
3. Choose the specific Room, Rate Plan, and Partner if apply to an specific partner.
4. Set the status to Closed or apply a StopSell.
5. Note: If setting allotment to 0 for a single plan, uncheck "Save allotment for all price plans."

Use Case: Applying StopSell to Individual Rate Plans

To prevent a StopSell from affecting every rate plan for a room:

1. Navigate to Prices and Availability > Mass Update.
2. Select the Date Range.
3. Choose the specific Room, Rate Plan, and Partner if apply to an specific partner.
4. Locate the checkbox: Save Sell / StopSell in all rate plans.
5. Unmark this checkbox to ensure the change is isolated to the selected plan.
6. Save changes.

Key Terms

• Allotment: The number of rooms available for sale.
• CTA (Closed to Arrival): Prevents check-ins on specific dates.
• CTD (Closed to Departure): Prevents check-outs on specific dates.
• MinLOS / MaxLOS: Minimum or Maximum Length of Stay restrictions.
• Release Days: Automatic closure of unused allotment a set number of days before arrival.
• StopSell: A manual override to close sales regardless of remaining allotment.
