This document provides technical instructions for managing user access, roles, and account deletions within the Channel Manager system.

Overview of User Management

Administrator users can create and delete Channel Manager access for other users via the User Management tab. While initial users are typically configured during the implementation phase, administrators use this panel to manage new staff or remove inactive accounts. All changes must be applied to a specific Property selected from the dashboard.

How to Add a New User

To register a new user in the Channel Manager:

  1. Navigate to the Hotel Users panel.
  2. Click the Add User function in the top-left corner.

  3. Login Credentials: Enter a valid email address as the login. This address is required for the automated password setup process.
  4. Account Details: Enter the account owner's name and assign a specific Role.

  5. Activation: After saving, the system sends an automated email to the provided address. The user must follow the instructions in the email to set their password and finalize account activation.

User Roles and Access Levels

The Channel Manager supports three distinct administrative roles to control system access:

  • Expert: A standard user with full access to all settings, updates, and data management without restrictions.
  • Read Only: A restricted account. Users can view data and configurations but cannot modify setup or update any information.
  • Availability Manager: A restricted account. Users cannot change system setup or configurations but are authorized to manipulate data, specifically inventory and availability.

Managing Feature Restrictions

Administrators can further refine permissions by setting specific access restrictions to individual Channel Manager panels. To customize these settings, click the Features button within the Edit User panel to toggle access for specific modules.

How to Delete a User

To revoke system access and remove an account:

  1. Locate the user within the Hotel Users panel.
  2. Click the Red Cross Icon associated with that account.
  3. Confirm the deletion to erase the inactive or redundant account from the system.
